Spring & Summer 2014 Expeditions Through Gloucestershire By @aboutglos. to improve the quality and amount of content on my Gloucestershire websites and blogs I have decided this years holidays will all be based around Gloucestershire. These will be a combination of both fun and a working holiday. As I am a non driver, public transport, walking and cycling will influence the course of my Gloucestershire breaks. When walking you don’t cover as much ground but everything you see you see in more detail.

My Mini Break Ideas
1 River Wye Walk – I plan to photo diary a walk from Ross-On-Wye loosely following the river wye to Chepstow where the Wye meets the Severn. My walk will detour through various parts of the Forest Of Dean. I expect this walk to last 7 days with all the detours. I will be camping in various campsites in the wye valley and Forest Of Dean, allowing me to honestly enhance my camping guide. To be polite will be visiting Redbrook as suggested by @RedbrookNP25 and maybe have a Twitter friend pint.
2 Stratford Upon Avon To Gloucester – A relatively unplanned idea at present but basically have met people in the past that have walked this route along the river avon and severn. More details to follow
3 Sapperton To Stroud – Following the network of canals from Sapperton to Stroud. More details to follow
4 Sharpness To Gloucester – A 1 day walk from Sharpness Docks to home in Gloucester, photographing all the key features of the canal and nearby pubs, cafes and shops.
5 Night In Cirencester – Somewhere I haven’t spent much time is Cirencester, so a day touring, a night out and an overnight stay seems like a good introduction.
6 Small Cotswold Town Expeditions – Towns not decided yet but the plan is 1-2 days in various Cotswold towns, probably determined by the more social people on Twitter.
Other Days Out
1 Annual Summer Solstice watch – I usually with a group of friends choose a random location in the middle of nowhere and stay up for the shortest night. 2013 was on Haresfield Beacon & Randwick Woods. Much fun and whiskey was had by all.
